Spend a lovely afternoon at The Craftery learning to sew quilted placemats designed to bring warmth, color, and the quiet beauty of handcraft to your table.
We’ll begin with an introduction to the sewing machine, learning how to thread the machine, wind and insert a bobbin, select a stitch, control the machine’s speed, and sew a straight, even seam.
Then, working with thoughtfully paired fabrics, you’ll learn how to layer, quilt, and finish your own placemat. This approachable project is a beautiful introduction to both machine sewing and simple quilting—made to be used for family dinners, slow Sunday breakfasts, and gatherings around the table.
